Anusara Yoga Comes to the Garden

Jeremiah Wallace’s Practice and Teaching Embody a Synergy of Yoga Styles

We are  excited to offer Anusara Yoga at Yoga Garden of San Francisco starting August 21st. Anusara means “flowing with grace,” which reflects the focus of each class. Universal priciples of alignment are applied to the instruction of poses to connect to the grand purposes of yoga, to create awareness of specific postural alignment, and to foster balanced action between stability and freedom. Movements and actions within every pose are coordinated with the breath. Level 1-2 classes are appropriate for beginners to intermediate students.

At Yoga Garden, Jeremiah Wallace offers Anusara-Inspired classes on Sundays at 6pm and Tuesday/Thursday 1:15-2:45pm. Jeremiah found yoga early in 2004 by taking a kinesiology course in college, and just never quit.  In Austin, 2006, he began practicing at a local studio and  found a  new and exciting depth to yoga that he had never felt before. After practicing Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha Flow, and other styles of yoga, he began teacher training and teaching in 2007.

Jeremiah’s roots in yoga are in the Iyengar method and he still greatly calls upon the method to inform his practice, study, and teaching of Anusara yoga.  He has taught from he principles of Anusara yoga since he started teaching, and is pursuing Anusara certification. Jeremiah finds this practice to be a constant process of learning and understanding. It is for the sake of living life more knowledgably, harmoniously, and happily with oneself and others.  Jeremiah’s classes are geared toward personal discovery, through focused physical and mental attention, while
