Distinction between Vinyasa and Hatha (Flow)?

“Hi, I’m curious in the distinction between classes described as Vinyasa vs. those described as Hatha Flow – can you enlighten me? Thanks!”

Hi Deborah,

We’ve discussed this at some length, and others could respond differently, but at the Garden this is our definition.
Vinyasa doesn’t stop moving. Hatha (which really refers to all of the classes) Flow is like vinyasa, except that the teacher has the ability to interrupt the flow for more instruction, to repeat as needed, etc.  Vinyasa, the  train keeps rolling and hatha flow, it is allowed to pull over every once in a while.
Hope that helps.
