DESCRIPTION:Folk Kids Yoga Teacher Training with Alexandra Rossi \nLighting the torch of mindfulness in the hearts of youth through yoga and meditation is one of the most powerful and empowering ways to shape our world. \n\nYoga Garden Kids® is for parents\, yoga teachers\, school teachers\, educators or those working with children 4 to 12 years old. Participants acquire the tools to help children deepen self-awareness and well-being through yoga and mindfulness. Participants explore a personal meditation practice while in training to develop the ability to authentically share both yoga and mindfulness with youth. Yoga Garden Kids® is a unique\, mindfulness-based program that will prepare you to teach yoga to youth and will cover topics such as working with children with ADD and ADHD. \n\n\nYoga Garden Kids® was built on the philosophy that children learn best when playing. The program focuses on deepening a personal mindfulness practice\, bringing yoga to children in their own words and understanding the neuroscience of child development. This training prepares students to become kids yoga teachers by giving them the tools to understand children\, to communicate with them\, to craft unique mindfulness exercises and safe yoga sequences and to launch a sustainable career. \n\nIn the Garden Kids Yoga Teacher Training\, you will learn:\n– Stages of mental and emotional development throughout childhood\n– Communication skills to interact with parents\, schools and developmental specialists\n– Yoga poses for children in their own words\n– Basics of mindfulness\, exercises and games\n– Teaching skills for a young audience\n– Pediatric anatomy\n– Class observation and teaching practicums\nSchedule:\nFriday\, June 16 | 6-9pm (Virtual via Zoom)\nSaturday\, June 17 | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio)\nSunday\, June 18 | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio)\nMonday\, June 19 | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio)\nTuesday\, June 20 | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio)\nWednesday\, June 21 | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio) \n  \nRequired Books:\n\nChild’s Mind by Christopher Willard (Amazon)\nYoga for Children by Lisa Flynn (Amazon)\n\n*Child’s Mind will be read throughout the training; Yoga for Children will serve as a reference guide.
