DESCRIPTION:Young Folk: Kids Yoga Teacher Training with Alexandra Rossi\, E-RYT 500  \n  \nIf you love yoga\, there’s no better way to spread the love than to teach yoga to kids! At Folk Yoga School\, we offer a two-part training called Young Folk\, in which you can study and train to be a yoga teacher for young folks! The Kids Yoga Teacher Training is for parents\, yoga teachers\, school teachers\, educators or those working with children 4-12 years old. Lighting the torch of yoga in the hearts of the next generation is a powerful way to help shape our world! \n  \nOur Kids Yoga Teacher Training was built on the philosophy that children learn best when playing. The program focuses on supporting the development of mindfulness in children\, learning the neuroscience of child development\, understanding best practices for communicating with kids\, and bringing yoga to children in their own words.  \n  \nIn this training\, you will learn how to: \n  \n\nCreatively teach yoga postures to children \nCreatively teach mindfulness and exercise to kids\nGuide children in different stages of mental and emotional development \nCommunicate and interact with parents and schools\nUnderstand and talk about pediatric anatomy\nTeach to neurodiverse children  \n\n  \nThis training consists of lecture\, personal practice\, and teaching practice. Participants will explore a personal meditation practice while in training to develop the ability to authentically share yoga and mindfulness with youth. For registered yoga teachers (200 RYT or above)\, you must take both this course and the Teens Yoga Teacher Training to receive Yoga Alliance’s Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) Certification.  \n  \nSchedule: \n  \nWeekend 1 \nThursday\, May 2nd | 6-9pm (Virtual via Zoom) \nFriday\, May 3rd | 6-9pm (Virtual via Zoom) \nSaturday\, May 4th | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio) \nSunday\, May 5th | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio) \n  \nWeekend 2 \nThursday\, May 30th | 6-9pm (Virtual via Zoom) \nFriday\, May 31st | 6-9pm (Virtual via Zoom) \nSaturday\, June 1st | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio) \nSunday\, June 2nd | 9am-5pm (In person at Folk NOPA Studio) \n  \nRequired Books: \n\nChild’s Mind by Christopher Willard \nYoga for Children by Lisa Flynn\n\n  \n(Child’s Mind will be read throughout the training; Yoga for Children will serve as a reference guide.) \n  \nThis event is virtual and in-person at the NOPA studio. This course provides 45 contact hours toward Folk’s 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification with Yoga Alliance\, or 45 CEUs.
