SUMMARY:300 Hour Core Module: Advanced Asana Practice (Summer 2026)
DESCRIPTION:32 HOURS IN-PERSON with Martin Scott \nAll great yoga teaching blossoms out of the lived and embodied experience of the teacher’s own practice of yoga. In this training\, you will have the opportunity to deepen your own personal practice. You’ll learn more complex poses by deconstructing them into foundational asana and then rebuilding them. Through this method\, you will learn to feel steady\, confident and safe when practicing new\, more challenging poses. \nWe’ll also investigate what an “Advanced Practice” looks and feels like\, placing significant emphasis on self-inquiry and attention to detail\, rather than simply focusing on taking complicated shapes. You’ll learn personal modifications and self-adjustments that are appropriate for your physical and emotional state\, and a more sophisticated use of yoga props. All of these tools will translate into making you a stronger\, more aware teacher. \nThis training is in-person and consists of three weeks of morning practice on Mondays\, Tuesdays\, Thursdays and Fridays.  \nRequired Reading: \nAnatomy of Hatha Yoga by H. David Coulter \nRead before first day: \nForeword\, Preface\, Introduction\, Basic Premises\, Chapter 1 & Chapter 2 \nThe Key Poses of Yoga by Dr. Ray Long \nRead before first day: \nIntroduction\, Part One: Theory \nSchedule: \nAugust 17th – September 4th\, 2026 \nMondays\, Tuesdays\, Thursdays\, Fridays \n7am-9am \nall sessions held in person at Folk NOPA \nPrice: \n$950 for this 30 hour module\, or $850 if enrolled by July 27th\, 2024 with discount code ASANA26.  Gain unlimited access to all Folk trainings\, workshops\, and classes with our Yoga School All Access Membership! To learn more\, schedule a call with our Admissions Manager. \nDrop-in participants are required to hold a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate. \n300 Hour Program: \nCompletion of this module will apply to the 300 hours required by Yoga Alliance for your 300-hour Advanced certification. Core modules can be taken in any order. Students may re-take any of the Core Modules for full credit at a slightly reduced rate. \nFor more about our 300 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training: click here.

SUMMARY:Trauma-Informed YTT: Intersectional Yoga Teaching (Fall 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training \nIntersectional Yoga Teaching | 9 Hours – VIRTUAL with Ro Grace \nIn this module\, join yoga teacher and cultural competency specialist Ro Grace (E-RYT 500) in exploring intersectionality: a framework to understand how aspects of a person’s social and political identities combine to create different lived experiences. No matter our individual backgrounds\, we’ve all been negatively impacted by white supremacy culture\, capitalism\, and hetero-patriarchy. To dismantle this harmful culture and the trauma at the heart of its design\, we’ll learn the process of how to decouple our healing from oppressive institutions and teach yoga in an intersectional way. Through lecture\, discussion\, and somatic exercises\, you will: \n\nGo back in time to fetch the true intentions of the ancient healing practice of yoga and carry it forth\, bringing along your own personal ancestral practices. \nGain a better understanding of how modern yoga often functions as a tool of oppression (rather than healing)\, and the ways in which we each play a part in this paradigm. \nBe empowered to create more inclusive spaces of healing in your own classrooms. This module includes lecture and group discussion\, as well as somatic exercises geared toward self-inquiry and ancestral healing.\n\nThis module can be taken as part of the 40-Hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training. Our expert-led\, Yoga Alliance-approved teacher training is a comprehensive educational experience designed to teach you how trauma expresses itself in the mind and body and shows up in the yoga room. Grounded in social theory\, modern neuroscience\, and yoga philosophy\, you will learn teaching methods to skillfully address the impact of trauma on the body and mind\, and trauma-informed movement\, contemplative\, and community experiences. \nSchedule:  \nSaturday\, September 26th\, 2026 – 9:00am-12:00pm \nSaturday\, October 3rd\, 2026 – 9:00am-12:00pm \nSaturday\, October 10th\, 2026 – 9:00am-12:00pm \nThis training is VIRTUAL \nPrice: $240 \nPlease Note:\nThe cost for the complete 40-hour program is $990. 300-hour trainees can enroll with their Folk Yoga School membership.
