DESCRIPTION:Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training  \nSupporting Pregnant & Birthing People | 3 Hours – VIRTUAL with Melylah Botté Smith \nIn this three-hour module you will learn how U.S. birthing culture\, healthcare disparities\, and systemic trauma can all lead to traumatic experiences for pregnant and birthing people\, and why it is essential to hold this knowledge when teaching to this population. In a brave and courageous space\, you’ll learn how to create safer and more welcoming yoga classes that incorporate invitational and inclusive language for your prenatal students. This module includes healing-centered practices such as body scans\, somatic movement\, affirmations\, and connection. \nThis module can be taken as part of the 40-Hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training. Our expert-led\, Yoga Alliance-approved teacher training is a comprehensive educational experience designed to teach you how trauma expresses itself in the mind and body and shows up in the yoga room. Grounded in social theory\, modern neuroscience\, and yoga philosophy\, you will learn teaching methods to skillfully address the impact of trauma on the body and mind\, and trauma-informed movement\, contemplative\, and community experiences. \nThis module can be taken only as part of the complete Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training. The Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training provides 40 elective contact hours in Folk’s 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training\, or 40 CEUs if you are already a registered yoga teacher.  \nSchedule:  \nTuesday\, September September 15th\, 2026 | 6:00pm-9:00pm \nThis training is VIRTUAL \nPrice: $80 \nPlease Note:\nThe cost for the complete 40-hour program is $990. 300-hour trainees can enroll with their Folk Yoga School membership. Folk members & alumni receive 25% off of the full price. Modules for this program are offered twice a year; you will have a full year to complete all modules for the certificate.
