How did you become interested in yoga?

My interest in yoga took root when I started studying the Vedanta Philosophy. Spending three years in a cloistered program on the foothills of the Sahyadri mountain range in western India. Having studied the Upanishads, the Bhagvad Gita and other traditional scriptures, I found that physical movement particularly yoga, helped ground myself. Haven’t looked back ever since.

Tell us about your yoga journey. What style did you start in and with whom do you study now?

I started with and Vinyasa style classes, spent many years studying with an instructor from the Iyengar school of yoga. These days my practices range from moving intensely and with purpose following a power flow or allowing my body to find stillness in the supported poses from my years with Iyengar yoga.

Describe your teaching style. What can folks expect when they attend your class?

I teach an alignment-based practice of movement and breath that is challenging yet accessible – a flow that is dynamic, strong and fluid.
