Tell us about yourself! What are some things that your students might not know?

I have been teaching yoga for more than a decade and have studied extensively with renowned teachers Gina Caputo and Jason Crandell. I also graduated with an MBA from University of Colorado – Leeds School of Business and often credit my background, education and experience to achieving success as a full-time yoga professional.

How did you become interested in yoga?

As a lover of all things movement, my gravitation towards the yoga asana practice seemed inevitable. I grew up dancing ballet, tap and jazz as a young child but I became more serious when I joined a local modern dance company in my adolescence. I found yoga in college once my sorority sister invited me to practice yoga in the chapter room. After that, I was hooked. I regularly practiced with yoga DVD’s and enrolled in a 1-credit yoga course my senior year at Syracuse University. After graduation, I started to attend public classes in NYC before signing up for my first teacher training program and moving out west to Colorado!

Tell us about your yoga journey. What style did you start in and with whom do you study now?

I have always been attracted to the Vinyasa practice because it is truly an embodiment practice which offers diversity of movement and self-exploration within a sequence. I primarily teach and practice Vinyasa but also enjoy yin, restorative and meditation.

Describe your teaching style. What can folks expect when they attend your class?

In my Vinyasa classes, I typically teach an all levels, intelligently-designed, dynamic practice that challenges students. But I always offer options to advance and/or modify the practice. The Yin practice is comprised of holding stationary and supportive poses for an extended period of time, encouraging the body to rest and recover. My Vin-Yin practice is the best of both worlds offering a mindful flow with a few grounding poses to match.

Any exciting projects or plans on the horizon?
