We’re continuing to wind our way through the unique neighborhoods of San Francisco to give you a peek into each Yoga Garden SF/Moxie studio. Whether you prefer to spend your afternoons bouncing between the green spaces of the avenues, or amidst the energy of the downtown crowd, our growing community has something to offer everyone. Read on for this week’s spotlight on our Noe Valley studio!
What Makes Noe Valley Special?
Our Noe Valley studio is tucked away in one of San Francisco’s most idyllic neighborhoods. Both surrounded by and somehow shielded from the city’s downtown energy, Noe Valley is a residential pocket that many urbanites may miss if never given a reason to explore it. Sitting atop a hilly area, this neighborhood and our studio are bathed in plenty of bright, sunny days — we invite you to soak in sun and all the bliss that comes with it!
Bolstered by a mix of locally owned boutiques, book shops, and family-oriented fun, the spirit of the Noe Valley community is alive and well, and is embodied by the cheery folks who fill the streets on a weekend. In fact, we host our outdoor class in the Noe Valley Town Square twice a month; it’s a well attended and beloved addition to the buzzing neighborhood.
Walk a bit further, however, and you’ll find yourself right back in the vibrant spirit of Dolores Park! We love the feeling of being tucked away from it all while remaining just a stone’s throw away. If that’s your style, too, maybe Noe Valley is the studio for you.
Teacher Highlight
Caitlin Ryan is one the teachers in Noe Valley who strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for all of the students who find themselves nestled into this cozy corner of the city. As a teacher, Caitlin is brimming with the wisdom of a variety of practices. She received her 500-hour RYT training through Yoga Tree, trained in the Moxie and Barre Above methods, and has studied children’s yoga with It’s Yoga Kids. Her lifelong interest in music and sound also led her to become a certified sound healer through Sound Embrace Institute. We’re honored to have Caitlin as a part of this community, and look forward to incorporating more of her offerings into our schedule soon!

Neighborhood Treats
What sounds better after a good sweat than grabbing a to-go order from Subs Inc. and heading towards Dolores Park, where you catch a breeze and watch a range of fabulous folks from all walks of life bask in the unmatched beauty of a sunny San Francisco day? Not much. Subs Inc. offers a variety of creative sandwiches, including plenty of veggie options! Top it off with a scoop of Mitchell’s Ice Cream and you’ve got yourself a pretty ideal day.
However, if burgers are your treat of choice, Hi-Way Burger has got you covered. The lovely staff at Hi-Way keep their menu classic and does it well. They offer an impressive array of french fries to choose from, options for chicken or Beyond burgers, and delicious shakes we’ve grown to crave as soon as we walk by. Take it to go or enjoy the window seats — a perfect perch for people watching!
If you’d rather sit down and stay a while, we recommend visiting Mr. Digsby for a post-class brunch date. Their menu runs the gambit from a summer vegetable hash to smoked salmon flatbread, both of which are ideal for a bit of comfort after sitting as deep in Utkatasana as you possible could. If you want to loosen those limbs just a bit more, their brunch cocktail menu is phenomenal and fresh!
