Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training (Fall 2025)

September 11 - November 23

One of the most powerful ways to create healing in society is to support those who are birthing our future. Folk’s Prenatal Yoga Training, led by Melylah Botte Smith (RPYT), lays a strong foundation for understanding the emotional, physical, and mental impact of pregnancy and birth in today’s world and birthing culture. Folk is a leading national center for prenatal yoga teacher training, with graduates successfully teaching throughout the U.S., Asia, and Europe. Our 90-hour program meets the top-notch standards of Yoga Alliance, giving our graduates an assurance of quality, and the advantage of becoming a Yoga Alliance® Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT®).

In Folk’s Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, you will learn how to:

-Understand and communicate the benefits of prenatal yoga
-Engage with the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy
-Support students with common pregnancy and postpartum discomforts
-Be informed about birth culture, birth crisis, and birth justice
-Use trauma-informed, inclusive language and cueing
-Modify yoga postures for pregnancy
-Create, theme, and sequence transformational prenatal classes
-Support students in the 4th trimester
-Teach prenatal partner yoga and “Baby & Me” classes
-Practice self-care as a prenatal yoga guide
-Birth your prenatal yoga teaching business!

Throughout this training, you will be guided through profound conversations centered around how to collectively heal and grow as a society by uplifting birthing people regardless of race, class, or gender identity. In addition to the expert lead teacher, Melylah Botte Smith, Folk brings in a diverse group of guest teachers who are experts in the field to support your learning.

If you are a birth worker (midwife/doula), educator, or otherwise interested dedicated practitioner without a 200-hour certification, and would like to attend this training without receiving the RPYT certification, please contact rachel@folksf.com directly to discuss options for participation.)
