This transformative experience is designed to work with a variety of schedules, in accessible formats.
Learn alignment-based vinyasa from a team of teachers with diverse approaches and perspectives.
Receive a holistic education from our team of yoga teacher trainers who carry an average of 14 years of experience.
Small class sizes allow you to foster connections with those who share your passion for yoga.
We recommend prospective students have a regular yoga practice (2-3 times per week) for at least six months. Having a consistent yoga practice before joining the Folk 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program will prepare your body and mind and will give you the opportunity to build awareness of your body’s needs. The 200-hour training will cover fundamental asana (poses), vinyasa (flowing sequence), pranayama (breathing), anatomy, the history and philosophy of yoga, meditation, and yoga teaching techniques. We also provide insights into how to build a career in yoga.
Students of our 200-Hour YTT program graduate with the tools and certification they need to start teaching yoga immediately. We offer advice and guidance for starting a career in yoga, as well. Whether or not you’re ready is up to you!
The number of students in each training varies, anywhere from 10-20 students should be expected. It’s worth noting that immersion YTT programs typically contain fewer students than extended programs.
Cancellations are accepted up to 30 days prior to the start of a training. Students who choose to cancel within the allotted time will be refunded any tuition payments with the exception of the $500 non-refundable deposit. Those who withdraw from training with fewer than 30 days left until the start date are liable for the full balance of the teacher training tuition. No exceptions are granted.
Attendance is mandatory for the first week of the 28-day program, or the first three weeks of the 12-week program. During that time, essential course pedagogy and introductory concepts are taught that are necessary for the remainder of the program. We strongly recommend that students wait to start a 200-Hour training program until it is certain that full attendance is possible.
Students may only miss up to 10% (20 hours) of the training (of which hours must be made up). Those who miss more than 20 hours of training, may be dropped from the training while maintaining responsibility for full payment of the training.
Students who have missed up to 20 hours of the training may make up the hours in one of three ways:
1) Schedule a private session with an instructor. Depending on the content of the missed coursework, instructor to student ratios may vary from 1:1 to 1:4. These sessions are $125 per hour.
2) Join a future training for the day(s) you missed. This option is available as space allows. $35 administrative fee per make up session.
3) When available and appropriate for the class content, watching a recording of the missed session is possible. $35 administrative fee per make up.
All hours must be made up within one year of initial training.
