Summer Camp!

July 20 @ 9:00 am - July 26 @ 4:30 pm

Summer Camp – a week-long immersion into the delights and joy of yoga.

Led by Anna Parker and Joey Gottlieb

It’s summer camp! Yoga can be a serious business, but we don’t always have to take it so seriously. Yoga is filled with play and delight, with story and imagery, and with creativity and possibilities we don’t often get to explore in a standard group class format.

This 20-hour comprehensive immersion is an opportunity to grow your practice and discover how yoga brings people together through joyful exploration. We’ll explore a variety of delightful practices and classic summer camp activities to develop a new depth of practice and self-study. This is open to current 300-hour students, alumni, and students from the public.

Camp will include:

    • Playful practices with less familiar asanas, creative sequencing, and props and partner work to develop technique and advance your practice
    • Innovative breath work practice (pranayama) with partners and props
    • Learning simple but profound touch skills to enhance your personal practice and self-care
    • Guided meditation practices using somatics and imagery for deep relaxation and clarity
    • A deep dive into the myths and stories that inform the yoga tradition in order to cultivate a more personal relationship to yoga
    • Camp activities in San Francisco! Expressive arts, outdoor practice, chai, a beach trip and picnic, hikes and a sound bath!
