Have you always wanted to meditate, but not sure where to begin? Or maybe you have a practice but are wanting to dive deeper? Rooted in ancient wisdom, meditation has been practiced for thousands of years as a means of deepening concentration and connecting with the inner self. It is a foundational practice within the yogic tradition, offering a path to stillness, clarity, self-awareness, and peace.
In this dynamic workshop, you’ll be immersed in these ancient teachings, exploring their origins, philosophy, and practical applications. Yoga teacher Meera Dhawan (500 E-RYT), who grew up immersed in these teachings, will lead this deep dive will include an understanding of:
- How yoga meditation (dharana) differs from other systems of meditation
- The relationship between meditation and the Self (atman) through the Eight Limbs of Yoga
- Authentic yoga meditation techniques such as swaying meditation, bija mantra meditation, and walking meditation
- How to develop your own personal meditation practice
This workshop includes both theory and guided practice so you can leave feeling empowered to embody these practices and share them with others. All levels of experience are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and a notebook or something to write with.
