We’re Hiring: Yoga Education Director

We’re hiring a Yoga Education Director to steward the quality, curriculum, and educational direction of yoga at Folk Yoga School.

Location: Hybrid (remote + NOPA)
Schedule: 10 hrs/week; hours will vary by training cycles

This role is for someone who cares deeply about the craft of teaching yoga and feels called to shape how teachers are trained, supported, and developed over time


About the Role

The Yoga Education Director is responsible for the integrity and evolution of Folk’s yoga education. This includes curriculum design, teaching standards, instructor development, and the overall quality of classes offered across our studios.

Working closely with studio leadership and the executive team, this role ensures that Folk’s educational philosophy is clearly defined, consistently applied, and thoughtfully evolving.


Key Responsibilities

Curriculum, Pedagogy & Teaching Standards

  • Design, refine, and steward Folk’s yoga curriculum and teaching framework
  • Define and uphold clear teaching standards across all studios
  • Ensure consistency and quality in class structure, sequencing, cueing, and student experience
  • Regularly review and evolve educational materials to align with Folk’s values and philosophy

Teacher Training & Continuing Education

  • Lead and oversee teacher trainings, including 200-hour and continuing education programs
  • Develop ongoing education pathways for instructors at different stages of growth
  • Support training assistants and senior teachers involved in education programs

Instructor Development & Mentorship

  • Observe classes and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback
  • Mentor instructors in pedagogy, presence, sequencing, and communication
  • Support instructor evaluations and advancement in partnership with studio leadership

Quality Assurance & Collaboration

  • Partner with Studio Managers and leadership to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Address teaching-related concerns with clarity, care, and professionalism
  • Translate community and studio insights into educational improvements
  • Contribute to long-term education strategy and growth planning

  • Has deep experience teaching yoga and training teachers
  • Is grounded in pedagogy, anatomy, sequencing, and teaching methodology
  • Cares deeply about standards, clarity, and educational integrity
  • Is thoughtful, communicative, and comfortable offering feedback
  • Understands how strong education directly impacts student trust and retention
