Folk Yoga’s Prenatal Yoga Teacher Certification Training, led by Marisa Toriggino, blends traditional approaches to pregnancy, birth, and post-partum along with contemporary science, cultural awareness, and knowledge of the prenatal field at large. Folk Yoga is a leading national center for prenatal yoga teacher training, with graduates successfully teaching throughout the Americas, Asia, and Europe. This program is an 85-hour registered Yoga Alliance training, giving our graduates an assurance of quality, and the advantage of becoming a Yoga AllianceĀ® Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYTĀ®).
In Folkās Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, you learn how to:
- Understand and communicate the benefits of prenatal yoga
- Engage with the most current science of the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy
- Support students with common pregnancy and postpartum discomforts
- Use informed, inclusive language and cueing
- Modify yoga postures for pregnancy
- Create, theme, and sequence prenatal classes
- Support students in the 4th trimester
- Teach prenatal partner yoga and āBaby & Meā classes
This teacher training is designed for yoga teachers who want to wish to provide specialized support for pregnant mothers and their communities. Participants must have a 200-hour (RYT) Yoga Alliance certification if they want to take this training and receive the RPYT certification. If you are a birth worker (midwife/doula), educator, or otherwise interested dedicated practitioner without a 200-hour certification, and would like to attend this training without receiving the RPYT certification, please contact rachel@folksf.com directly to discuss options for participation.

This course provides 85 Elective Contact Hours for our Folk 300-Hour Program (85 Yoga AllianceĀ® CEUs). Please note that to receive Yoga Alliance’s Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) Certification, you must complete the entire course and must be Yoga Alliance RYT200. Folk members & alumni receive 25% off of the full price.
Tuition for Folk’s 300-hour program includes unlimited access to regularly scheduled yoga classes, all 300-hour core modules, mentorship, and electives (trainings and workshops).
