Meredith’s classes are the perfect balance of fun, challenging, and nourishing. You leave each class with a sense of calm and a boost in confidence. Her presence is nurturing and her sequences are dynamic, giving you the best of both worlds.
With nine popular classes a week at Yoga Garden, it’s a apparent we can’t enough! So let’s dig a little deeper and get to know Meredith off the mat.
1) Tell us about yourself! What was your first job? Any fun hobbies or personal interests?
I am learning to play the ukulele and have been playing it during final savasana in the 6 am classes.
2) How did you become interested in becoming a yoga teacher?
The practice of yoga is something I fall more and more in love with over time. Becoming a yoga teacher at a studio was a natural extension of my personal practice and of my life dharma.
3) What style(s) of yoga do you offer? Can you explain what makes this style unique?
I teach vinyasa yoga and meditation. My sweetest class is the Sunday evening class at 7:30 pm- we breathe and move for the first hour and prepare the body to sit for a 30 minute meditation. For me, this is the practice.
4) What do you feel makes a really good yoga class?
I feel successful if my students connect to the rhythm of the breath and allow the inhale/exhale to shift the body from one shape to the next. I feel successful if my students cultivate more awareness and presence on the mat so that they can leave and choose to be more open, kind and loving.
5) What is your favorite yoga pose and why?
My favorite pose at the moment is puppy pose or Uttana Shishosana. I like the grounding of the forehead and the openness is creates in the space behind my heart. If I am only going to do one pose before my morning meditation, it is the puppy pose.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know Meredith off the mat as much as we did. Be sure to check out her upcoming classes and keep your ears open for some beautiful ukelele music!
