FREE CLASS: Intro to Yoga

start yogaDo you know someone who is ready to discover yoga? This is a perfect class for new students to understand the benefits of this transformational practice. The Free Intro to Yoga Class is for students who have never taken a yoga class before or who are interested in learning about how we teach yoga at YGSF.

The benefits of yoga extend to physical, mental, and emotional health. Basic poses and breath work are introduced by an experienced instructor in a supportive community of other yoga-curious, Yoga Garden SF newbies.

We provide all the props you’ll need. Just bring your yoga mat or $2 to rent one. Wear comfortable clothing – a T-shirt and shorts or leggings are best.

Stacey Swan:

stacy-swanStacey, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, has over 700 hours of training, and has been teaching yoga since 2007. She holds a 200-hour certificate in Astanga/Vinyasa from O2 Yoga in Cambridge, MA, and a 500-hour certificate in Hatha/Viniyoga from the Healing Yoga Foundation in San Francisco. She studies under Chase Bossart, Jennifer Durand, and Kate Holcombe who are all students of TKV Desikachar and his father T. Krishnamacarya.
 
Stacey believes that yoga has the capacity to empower, transform, and support the physical, emotional, and mental layers of the human experience in a way that brings us deeper compassion and understanding of our world and our place within it. Her classes will include varied combinations of the following: asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), chanting, meditation, and yoga philosophy.
 
Stacey encourages her students to practice in a focused and safe manner with instruction that is clear, warm, and light hearted. Practitioners of all ranges of experience are welcome in her classes.
