Meet Folk.
We are thrilled to announce a new era for our business. Since Yoga Garden SF and Moxie merged last year, we have been working diligently to establish a new identity that conveys our shared values and vision. As we reimagined ourselves, we felt compelled to recenter our business on what matters most to us: our community.
Our name may be new, but in one way or another, we have been a pillar of the San Francisco yoga community for 25 years.
We have evolved alongside San Francisco and the communities we serve since our founding as Castro Yoga in 1998. Fast forward to August of 2022, when more than 500 of you participated in our community survey and indicated interest in complementary forms of movement such as barre, pilates, HIIT, and sculpt. As a business that aspires to be an active part of our dynamic city, we listened. Now, our programming is expanding beyond solely yoga. Yoga will remain core to our offerings, and yoga philosophy will continue to guide our vision; but now, you can move with our teachers and in our spaces in new ways. Whether you’re exploring these options for the first time or are a longtime practitioner, we can’t wait to share these offerings with you.
Folk is a collection of yoga and movement studios found throughout San Francisco where every body is invited to move, breathe, restore, and belong.
Beyond the mat, Folk is a place to meet your truest self, a new friend, or the neighbor you’ve always wanted to say hi to. Because we know that we move better together.

Like with any major change, the launch of our new identity has presented our team with challenges, unexpected obstacles, and opportunities to put our yogic tools to use. As we continue to breathe deeply, we ask for your patience and understanding as our Folk website is still being developed.
