The 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training program is the base level training where everyone starts their Yoga Teacher Training journey. The 200-Hour program provides a broad overview of many different topics related to the fundamentals of living and teaching yoga. Completion of our 200-hour program ensures that students are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as RYT-200.
Once a 200-Hour YTT is completed, students can move forward with the more advanced trainings that make up the 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training program. Advanced trainings goes more in depth on one particular topic, like Trauma-Informed Yoga, or provides guidance for teaching a specific population, like our Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training program. The completion of a 300-hour program ensure that students are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as RYT-500.

Depending on which electives you decide to take, you should have the skills required to teach Pre/Postnatal yoga classes, restorative yoga classes, vinyasa yoga, flow + restore yoga classes, kids yoga, and/or teens yoga classes with a trauma-informed approach.
Any combination of these specializations will enable you to teach private yoga classes, in-studio and livestream yoga classes, provide yoga in educational settings, or use yoga as a tool in healing and rehabilitation.
Training enrollment varies widely; you can expect anywhere from 5 to 30 students in a class.
Attendance is mandatory for the first two days of any core module. During that time, essential course pedagogy and introductory concepts are taught that are necessary for the remainder of the program. We strongly recommend that students wait to start a Core Module until it is certain that attendance of these first two days is possible.
Students may only miss up to 8 hours (or 1 day) of the program. After missing more than 8 hours of training, students are welcome to continue the program, but will not receive credit.
Students who have missed up to 8 hours of the training may make up the hours in two ways:
1) Schedule a private session with an instructor. Depending on the content of the missed coursework, make-up time instructor to student ratios may vary from 1:1 to 1:4.
2) Join a future training for the day(s) missed. This option is available as space allows. $35 administrative fee per make up.
3) Watch a recording of the missed session. $35 administrative fee per make up. This applies to online trainings only.
All hours must be made up within one year of initial training. Because program content varies by instructor, students must contact their course teacher to find out what was missed. Students may be asked to complete an assignment (writing an essay, sequencing a class, etc.) on the content missed.
The majority of Folk 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training programs are in person.
