Maija Waris

Maija’s classes are breath-centered and alignment-based. She offers an energizing vinyasa flow, balanced with restorative poses and pranayama.Her professional background is in the performing arts, journalism and media; she began teaching yoga in 2019. The common denominator in everything she has pursued has been the study of listening and answering, holding space, and the art of being present through somatic exercises and breath. This is also what forms the foundation of her yoga teaching.Her main area of interest is prenatal yoga: “It has been a wonderful support in my own journey as a mother and I wish to hold space and offer the same for other mothers to be.”Maija was born and raised in Sweden by Finnish parents and has spent the majority of her adult years traveling between the US and Scandinavia.
